HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE
Come join us as for a week of liturgies where we become eyewitnesses and direct participants in the awesome event of the Passion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Palm Sunday: April 13 @ 5:15pm, @8:00am, 10:30am, 2:00pm
Here we will celebrate Christ’s entrance into Jerusalem to accomplish his Paschal Mystery by receiving palms, entering in procession and reading the passion.
Chrism Mass: Tuesday, April 15 @ 5:45pm
The Priests, Religious and Laity throughout the Diocese gather in the Cathedral as Bishop Kopacz blesses the three oils that will be used throughout the diocese.
Tennebrae Service: Wednesday, April 16 @ 5:30pm
A special service of candles, prayers and hymns that recreates the betrayal, abandonment, and agony of Jesus’ passion, and it is left unfinished, because the story isn’t over until Easter Day.
Holy Thursday: Thursday, April 17 @ 5:30pm
This celebration commemorates the institution of three pillars of the Catholic Faith: the Sacrament of Holy Communion; the Priesthood; the Mass.
Good Friday: Friday, April 18 @ 5:30pm
No Mass celebrated on this day.
This solemn liturgy commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus.
Easter Vigil Saturday, April 19 @ 8:00pm
This night, the Church keeps vigil, waiting for the resurrection of the Lord, and celebrates the sacraments of Christian initiation with those coming into the Catholic Faith Tradition.
Easter Sunday: April 20 @ 8:00am, 10:30am, 2:00pm
Easter Sunday marks the day Jesus Christ was resurrected. This is a joyous day for all and reminds us of His promise of eternal life and His love for us all.
